About

Daniel Trump – aka Dalton Lewis – is the author of 10+ books from wildly divergent genres and styles.

He grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan until high school, playing role-playing games and computer games and watching football and running around outside having adventures with friends. He moved to Libertyville, Illinois and struggled with depression and loneliness towards the first half of high school – which he would write about many times during his writing career. Eventually he made friends and graduated from Libertyville High School and began to study English Literature at the University of Iowa. He spent a year in Japan and adventured around the world for a year before graduating. Then he moved around America doing office jobs until he had a complete mental breakdown in Las Vegas, Nevada, around 2002. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and had trouble functioning and holding down jobs.

During his twenties and thirties he wrote a little, trying to survive and get better mentally and physically. When he grew into his late thirties, though, the meds got better at fighting the symptoms of mental illness and he began to write again in earnest. He wrote a number of novels and self-published them, going from half a dozen sales of My Little Paradise to 1,000 downloads of The Omniscience Cult.

Now he writes fantasy, sci-fi, and horror novels in Grayslake, Illinois, reads a lot, plays old video games, and watches comic-book movies over and over. He also plays Warhammer 40k and writes fan fiction for it.
